Sustainability Efforts

Keep Utah Cool Intro Image

Ski Utah is dedicated to promoting and preserving the ski and snowboard industry in Utah. We are proud to announce that as of April 2022, we are Climate Neutral Certified! We've worked with Climate Neutral to measure and offset our emissions at 313 MT for 2021. We are now focusing on reducing emissions moving forward, lessening our impact on the climate and will advocate for better climate policy in Utah. When a brand gets certified, it achieves zero net carbon emissions for all of the carbon it creates for business travel, employee commuting and office utilities for a calendar year. Our partnership with Stio further exemplifies this mission. Stio was founded to inspire connection with the outdoors through beautiful, functional products infused with mountain soul. Stio believes that it is our responsibility to help enable access for all people and strive for inclusion. This is proven through their innovation, quality of product and above all their sustainability practices. Stio is committed to doing the right thing and has taken an active approach toward tackling climate change through improved sourcing and manufacturing practices, advocacy for better climate and conservation policy; and remaining true to their brand through thoughtful partnerships. Ski Utah is proud to be one of those partners.

Ski Utah and Utah's ski resorts are passionate about snow, not only because we work in the mountains, but we live, play and recreate in them as well. Utah’s ski resorts are committed to mitigating their environmental impacts and protecting their communities for future generations to enjoy.

Utah’s ski resorts are involved in multiple initiatives that address their responsibilities to the environment including policies to reduce emissions generated by operations, championing local food, carpool and public transportation incentives, recycle and food waste programs and educating guests on how they can help.
