Where Kids Ski Free in Utah

With two young kids (ages 7 and 3), it’s a question I have asked the past several years, and one I always get asked a lot from people with similar-aged children. Where can my kids ski for free in Utah?

Let’s be honest: with little ones in tow, it’s less about the actual skiing or snowboarding and more about the experience and early exposure to snow sports. And many of us are all about providing that experience for toddlers and young kids without breaking the bank.

The good news is, many resorts in Utah provide free day passes for kids under a certain age (blackout dates and restrictions aside). Here is our list of Utah resorts that have free options for kids.

Alta Ski Area
When you purchase a Family Season Alta Package for two adults and two children (ages 7-17), kids in the family aged six and under get a complimentary pass.

Additional "child" season passes can be added to this family package for $235.

Kids 12 and under can also get the Kids Sunnyside at 3 Season Pass for $99. This pass is valid for afternoon skiing from 3–4:30 p.m. any day of the season. With direct-to-lift access, kids can skip the ticket window and maximize their afternoon ski time. More info here.

Beaver Mountain
Make the most of early season turns with Beaver Mountain’s 5 and under season pass. It’s FREE through November 30, 2023. Starting December 1, 2023, the price for this child pass is $100 for the rest of the season.

Brian Head Ski Resort
